which sees the light of day every once in a while when the car cover comes off it. But from the look of the rusted brake rotors, the car hasn`t moved in a LONG time.
This is not a new trend but is becoming more obvious. With the falling economy and high price of car ownership I fear for the automotive hobby. My fears are usually put to rest when I visit a track and see a lot of nice cars roaring around the track but I usually think to myself, this fun comes at what expense ? After paying 150yen per liter for gasoline, shaken (required public insurance, and vehicle inspection) every 2 years at about 75,000yen, yearly vehicle tax at about 40,000yen per year plus any repairs I might have to do to my little Toyota, I wonder if the money I saved to buy a worthy car is really worth it in Tokyo.

I have seen this ALOT as well. The problem is that if a car isn’t in good enough shape to sell to a dealership, and repairs cost more than the dealership will give them, they just let it sit. That’s the cheapest option.
