As in my last post I was telling about some of my plans for my Toyota Allex. So the Link ECU will be coming soon. However excited I am the electronically controlled U340E transmission is not a problem but means for more learning. For now the Link ECU will control the engine but the OEM ECU will control the transmission and I’ll leave it control the emission system. So this leaves for a little extra wiring and checking exactly what each system needs to operate properly.
For example the U340E transmission requires inputs from the ECT, STP light switch, TPS, SPD sensor , Crank sensor, MAF and such. These are to control the shift, lockup, and pressure solenoids in the valvebody. So many of the same inputs will be usd by both ECUs but the Link G4 will control all the outputs to control the engine such as Fuel, Ignition timing, VVT etc.
This is just the temporary home for the ECU as I plan to by another car in the future with a manual gearbox. Education is always good in my opinion hence my purpose for this project. Here’s a couple of pictures of what will be coming shortly.
