This past weekend Tsukuba Circuit hosted an AE86 Festival coupled with a promo for the new Initial D Fifth Stage series. The day consisted of a few open lap sessions, two or three small concerts, and two N2 race classes with Street and Race tires.
There were loads of 86’s around. The perfect place to find all the famous tuning garages in one area. If you’ve seen a tuned AE86 on the cover of a Japanese magazine, it was probably here.
If you haven’t seen the SS-Works/ELF Levin yet, please hop on your nearest Google terminal and get educated, its WILD(they also have a similar looking Honda CRX).
The Tecno-Pro Spirit Levin looking amazing. In my opinion this is probably the best looking REAL competitive AE86 there is.
With the CBY Trueno coming in a close second.
I had never seen this “Wise Auto Accurate”(i’m assuming) Trueno coupe before, but it definitely caught my eye. My hope in Trueno coupes has been restored…they CAN look nice.
A replica of the famed Initial D Trueno was also on display. It maintained a steady circle of fans throughout the day.
A woman approached me requesting a photo with her daughter. She spoke great English is a huge fan of Initial D, she even drives an STI! Good stuff. (Hope you like the photo!)
Also on display was a replica of the FD3S that appears in Initial D ( Sorry…I know nothing about Initial D… ).
Check back for more photo’s. I have tons of action shots but don’t want to delay the whole post.
